Music therapy uses musical elements in a healing way and involves children in singing, listening, moving, playing, and other creative activities to help them become better learners.
Music therapy is a powerful and non-threatening medium that makes unique outcomes possible and taps into music's ability to both calm and stimulate. It enhances the quality of life for many children with disabilities. Our certified music therapist works with families to develop children's self-awareness, confidence, readiness skills, coping skills, and social behaviour and may also provide pain management techniques. The therapist, the child, and the child's family create a positive environment and set the stage for successful growth. This program serves children 0 to 18 years who are already on the Centre's caseload for other therapy needs.
