Seating & Mobility
Our seating and mobility team helps those aged birth to 21 years of age who have a physical challenge affecting function, mobility, positioning, posture and/or skin integrity. Assessment of mobility, posture, range of motion, skin, and strength is done to ensure prescription of the most appropriate mobility and/or positioning devices. As well, we consider the life needs of our client and caregivers in the community, at home, in leisure activities, and at school. Our technician can help with adaptations to equipment such as infant seats, car seats, high chairs, and bikes. Based on client needs, we prescribe manual and power wheelchairs, adaptive bikes, strollers, walkers, and scooters. Adaptations and prescription of new equipment happens as the equipment needs of the client change.
Our specialized clinician and technician work with our client and the chosen vendor to provide the best possible system. Our clinician is authorized by the assistive devices program of the Ministry of Health to prescribe equipment to clients eligible to access this funding source. Clients must be residents of the Province of Ontario to quality.
